This route follows the powerful Kalixälven past Överkalix, one of Sweden’s few completely unregulated national rivers. The water is big and clear and keeps you quietly moving forward through the northern bottom forestry.
The stretch is short and quiet and fits a nice day trip, but Kalixälven is a large river with power in the water – check flow and stick to the quiet parties. Bring a map and always wear the life jacket.
