Klarälven runs through Värmland from the north towards Vänern and is one of the landscape’s clear paddle waters. On chosen stretches there are day trips and multi-day canoe tours, sometimes with transport to the start. The area is tied to the old timber floating, and the river valley still carries traces of that history.
Paddling on the river
Some quieter parts suit beginners and families, while other stretches need more experience. Water level and current vary with season and rain, so check conditions before you go and pick a stretch that matches your experience. Ask the rental about the current start, transport and any stretches to avoid.
