Hällefors Vandrarhem & Kanotcenter is located in Hällefors in Bergslagen, in the landscape of Västmanland, with the Black River as the nearest neighbour. The hostel rents out canoe and kayak and serves as the starting point for paddling on the river and the surrounding forest lakes.

From here you paddle the Svartälven and Bergslagen’s sea landscape with wilderness on the knot. The hostel is a good base, resting place or final destination for longer paddle trips, and also offers accommodation, hiking and fishing in the nearby nature reserves.

The black river is mainly quiet in the area, but check the water level and any current parties before you leave. Bring a map, plan your ability and always wear the life jacket.
