Kanotkungen is in Åkers Styckebruk in Strängnäs municipality and offers paddling close to Stockholm in beautiful Södermanland. They rent canoe and kayak for trips on Mälaren and Sörmland's lakes and are an approved canoe centre with Svenska Kanotförbundet.
What they offer
They rent open canoes and sea kayaks and run guided tours and beginner courses. From here you paddle lakes such as Visnaren, Marvikarna, Klämmingen and Frösjön, often alongside Sörmlandsleden. Transport, tents and other kit can be hired, and fishing licences are available at the launch sites.
Good to know
Sörmland's lakes are mostly calm and rewarding for both beginners and experienced paddlers. Bring a map, plan day stages and always wear a life jacket.
