Öreälvens Kanotcenter in Bjurholm rents canoes for paddling on Öreälven – one of Norrland’s finest undeveloped forest rivers, in Ångermanland in southern Västerbottens län. From here you reach a canoe route of about 140 km that follows the river from Knaften all the way down towards the sea.
What they offer
They rent canoes and arrange transport to and from the routes, so you can paddle one way. Popular stages in Bjurholm municipality are Bjurholm–Petnäset and Bjurholm–Agnäs. The centre is open from mid-May to mid-September and booking is by phone or online.

Öreälven is a living forest river with deeply cut valleys, meandering stretches and varying flow – conditions change with the water level and some stretches need a portage. Plan to your experience, bring a map and always wear a life jacket.
