Sälens Kanotcentral is an approved canoe rental, certified by Svenska Kanotförbundet since 2008, based at Näsholmen in Sälen. Here you paddle Västerdalälven through Dalarnas mountain country – slow-moving stretches that suit both day trips and multi-day adventures.
What they offer
The range runs from day trips of 2–7 hours to multi-day tours of 2–4 days, plus evening trips with beaver safari. Transport to and from the start is included. Examples of day trips: Högstrand–Sälen (10 km, 700 kr) and Fulunäs–Sälen (24 km, 900 kr). Multi-day tours from 2 500 kr per canoe, including dry bags and map material. Life jackets and paddles are always included.
Good to know
Västerdalälven is mostly slow-moving on the hired stretches and suits less experienced paddlers as well, but always wear a life jacket and judge the water level. See our canoe guide.
