Glaskogen in western Värmland is a large nature reserve and one of the landscape’s finest wilderness areas – about 80 lakes and stars linked to almost endless touring opportunities for canoe.With marked joints and wind protection along the way, it is a classical target for multi-day tours in still waters.
Paddling in Glaskogen
The cohesive lake system makes it possible to paddle from lake to lake with short bearings between, and the many wind protections and rest areas make it easy to plan overnight stays.The water is mostly quietly lakewater, making Glaskogen grateful even for less habit – but the distances can be large, so bring map.
Good to know
The Rent Canoe and Kayak at Glaskogens canoecentral at Lenungshammar. The Reserve has rules for fire and tentting – follow signs, use set-up locations and leave no tracks. Always wear the life jacket and plan the day steps according to your ability.
