Stage 5 runs about 16 km from the put-in jetty after the lock in Virsbo to the take-out jetty before the lock in Ramnäs, in Västmanland. Allow about 6–7 hours with a break.
About the stretch
Two portages are required, at Seglingsberg and Färmansbo. If you continue past Ramnäs towards Surahammar a third lift is added. At Seglingsberg the take-out is on the left bank before the fork towards lock and power station. Keep your distance from the power station. At Lilla Nadden the route towards Ramnäs goes via the canal to the right.
